The Anakena logo includes a moai, which is one of the colossal stone statues on Easter Island, located in the South Pacific Ocean and belonging to Chile. Despite extensive research, the actual purpose of the statues and the exact time of their construction is still disputed. It is now believed that the moai represent famous chiefs - ariki - or universally revered ancestors. There are almost 1000 moais on Easter Island. The exact age of the stone figures is disputed, but one can assume between 400 and 1200 AD.
The cosmetic brand Anakena, named after the famous beach, originated on Easter Island - also called Rapa Nui - so we decided to include one of the mystical Moais in our logo.
