Mono\u00ef de Tahiti is the first cosmetic ingredient to receive a protected designation of origin. The seal certifies the quality of its production, the selection of its ingredients, and their Polynesian origin.<\/p>

\u201eAppellation d\u2019Origine\u201c \u2013 Production Rules<\/h2>

The unique characteristics of Mono\u00ef de Tahiti were officially recognized as a designation of origin on April 1, 1992, by Decree No. 92-340\u2014and since then, the name has been a guarantee of authenticity and quality.<\/p>

Only products manufactured in French Polynesia according to precisely defined procedures may bear this name: The coconut oil is derived from ripe coconuts of the coconut palm (Cocos nucifera), which grow on soils of coral origin in French Polynesia.<\/p>

Only the following are used: Flower buds of the Tiare Tahiti (Gardenia taitensis)<\/span><\/a> of Polynesian origin, which are processed no later than the day after harvest.<\/p>

For every liter of refined coconut oil, at least ten tiare flowers are added and left to macerate in it for at least ten days.<\/p>

What's on the label<\/h2>

The percentage of Mono\u00ef de Tahiti is listed on our labels. The ingredient list includes the terms \u201eCocos nucifera (coconut) oil\u201c and \u201eGardenia taitensis flower extract.\u201c.<\/p>
