From the February 1 to 14, 2025<\/strong> the Tapati Festival invites you to two unforgettable weeks of music, dance, sport and art celebrating the traditions and irrepressible spirit of this unique island.<\/p>\n

Two impressive women are competing in this year's edition, Pua Tucki Hey<\/strong> and Mahatu De Reycke Atan<\/strong>for the title of Tapati Queen. With their charisma and passion, they embody the strength and deep sense of unity that characterizes the Rapa Nui community. Their preparations are already in full swing - full of passion and energy that bring the magic of this special event to life.

A living heritage<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Tapati Rapa Nui is a deeply rooted celebration of the identity and pride of the Rapa Nui community. Since the 1970s, it has developed into one of Polynesia's most important cultural events. The festival attracts people from all over the world who want to experience the authentic beauty of Easter Island and its living cultural heritage.<\/p>\n

During the festival, the island becomes a stage on which clans and families compete against each other in exciting competitions - from traditional sports to artistic performances. One of the highlights is the spectacular Tau'a Rapa Nui<\/strong>a triathlon in the impressive crater of the volcano Rano Raraku<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The evenings are enchanting with traditional dances and musical performances. Competitions such as the Takona<\/strong>where bodies are painted with natural pigments, or the Kai Kai<\/strong>an art of telling the legends and myths of Rapa Nui.
