Monoi de Tahiti coffee DIY

DIY scrub with Monoï de Tahiti Anakena and coffee

Beauty wellness recipe for your home: turn coffee grounds into a beauty product

How about a "coffee spa" with our Monoï de Tahiti oil and ingredients that you surely have at home? With everyday products - even those that you would normally throw away - you can create a natural scrub that will help your skin achieve a beautiful and nourished complexion.

What you need:
- Coffee grounds (preferably dry)
- Monoï de Tahiti Anakena
- Optional: honey

Coffee groundsAs a natural cosmetics brand, we recommend organic coffee, preferably from fair trade production. As you know of course, coffee grounds belong in the organic waste or at best on the compost, it contributes to the formation of fertile, new soil. But with our scrub recipe, we give it a "second life". The caffeine from the coffee bean works not only inside, but also from the outside, it stimulates the blood circulation of the skin and has a tightening effect! In the form of a peeling, coffee grounds provide a rosy complexion and cleanse deep into the pores, remove old skin flakes and also help a little against dark circles under the eyes. For our coffee monoï peeling you can take any kind of coffee grounds (filter coffee, from the fully automatic coffee machine or even the capsule machine). Depending on the grind of the coffee beans, the coffee particles in our coffee scrub will feel a little softer or firmer on the skin. The coffee grounds should be as dry as possible, as they tend to mold after a few days when wet.

Monoï de Tahiti: Our skin and hair oil protects the skin from drying out, moisturizes and protects.

Honey: Honey is a wonderful ingredient in natural cosmetics. In the manufacture of soaps, it fixes the scent. It has a calming effect, is anti-inflammatory and helps with skin problems thanks to its antibacterial effect.

Preparation:
If the monoï oil is solid (which is the case at temperatures below 24°C, since it consists mainly of coconut oil), place the bottle in a container of warm water for a few minutes and it will be liquid again. Now the oil is easier to combine with the other ingredients. Stir the coffee grounds with a small amount of the monoï oil (be careful not to let too much come out of the bottle) in a small bowl until a homogeneous mass is formed, optionally you can add some liquid honey.

Application:
Use the deliciously scented coffee scrub best in the shower or as a facial scrub over the sink, as it can drip a bit. Moisten your skin first, then you can massage the scrub in with circular movements. Enjoy the soothing massage, blood circulation is stimulated, dead skin cells are removed, it promotes the regeneration of the skin and nourishes it. Afterwards, rinse thoroughly and carefully dab the skin with a towel. We recommend following the Face cream Anakena to apply and for the body our Body lotion. Instead of coffee grounds, you can alternatively use brown sugar. The peeling can be done once a week. For oily or blemished skin it may be a little more often (maximum twice a week), for dry and sensitive skin a little less often (e.g. once every two weeks).
