Tiare Tahiti (Gardenia Tahitensis)

These flowers with their wonderful fragrance are macerated in coconut oil for at least 12 days to produce the famous Monoï de Tahiti Anakena. It is a flower of a shrub widespread in the islands of French Polynesia and has a strong aroma - similar to jasmine. The small tiare is a delicate white and very fragrant gardenia, the symbol of French Polynesia. The local importance of this flower is high, as it is used in many traditional natural aromas, as well as in perfumes and for making the typical leis - necklaces or flower wreaths - or put behind the ear as "jewelry".
