Ancient wisdom

"Drink where a horse quenches its thirst - a horse will never drink bad water. Go to bed where a cat sleeps.

Eat the fruit that a worm touched.

Reach for the mushrooms without fear, where gnats and mosquitoes sit down.

Plant a tree where a mole digs.

Build a house on the place where the snake warms.

Dig a well where the birds nest on hot days.

Go to bed and get up together with the chickens - so you will obtain a golden grain for the whole day.

Eat more greens - so you will have strong legs and an enduring heart like an animal. Go swimming more often and you will feel on earth like a fish in water.
Look up to the sky more often and not under your feet - that way your thoughts will be clear and light.

Be silent more often instead of talking - so silence will inhabit your soul, your mind will be peaceful and calm."

Saint Seraphim of Sarov (1759-1833)
