Ten years ago Rapa Nui - the Easter Island - the brand Anakena - Natural Cosmetics by our Chilean company Rapa Nui Natural Products. For more than six years in Hanga Roa, we introduced a Business under this name, in which we combined the unique flora of the island with handcrafted creativity.
The result was extraordinary products such as jams made from tropical fruits, chocolates in the form of moais and gourmet salt with herbs from our own organic garden.
Our passion for natural cosmetics began with handmade soaps that combined the abundance of Rapa Nui: aromatic herbs, lush flowers and seaweed. Other creations soon emerged in our small studio: Bath products, solid perfumes and massage oils that reflected the beauty and magic of the island.
Encouraged by the positive feedback from islanders and tourists, we transformed Anakena from an artisanal project into a brand of natural cosmetics that is now available on the Chilean mainland from Arica to Puerto Natales - and of course in the souvenir stores of Rapa Nui.
In 2018, we ventured into Europe and founded the company Anakena GmbH & Co. KG in Munich. Since then, we have been producing our cosmetic products in specialized laboratories in Germany and France, certified by ECOCERT COSMOS NATURAL.
This year we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of Anakena in Chile. A decade later, Anakena is far more than just a cosmetics brand - it is an experience that embodies Rapa Nui with all its colors, scents and magic. Each of our products tells a story and carries the "mana" - the special spiritual energy of the Polynesian culture that characterizes this unique island.
Looking ahead to the coming year, we are planning to include Anakena in the USA to introduce our natural products to a new audience. Our heart continues to beat to the rhythm of the Pacific waves that inspired the origin of our brand. At the same time, we continue our mission to bring the natural beauty of Polynesia to the world.
